Black August in the park will officially open this year with a parade! The route will begin at 3 pm on Durham's historic Black Wall Street (Parrish Street) and flow into Central Park. The parade will feature dancers, musicians and live music from across the diaspora representing four tribes; African-American,

Afro-Latinx, Afro-Caribbean and African.

As a tribe member, you'll receive a costume, unique community bonding experiences and the chance to perform with your tribe at the first All Blacks Parade. To join, follow these 3 easy steps:

  1. Click on the tribe you would like to join and complete the signup form

  2. Pay for your tribe's costume and performance lesson (lessons will be held in person or online)

  3. Learn your tribe's routine (no worries-they will be simple dance moves) and come on August 10th ready to celebrate!

Not interested in performing but want to join the parade?

We got you covered!

Be part of the New Orleans Second Line. Dance along and enjoy the music as we walk into the 5th annual Black August in the Park.
